Roberts Creek

Known as the Gumboot Capital of the World, Roberts Creek is a funky little village between Gibsons and Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast. The Creek offers a rural feeling a mere hour and a half from Vancouver.

Arts and Culture

Since the 1960s, Roberts Creek has been a haven for artists, artisans and craftspeople. Painting, pottery and a variety of eclectic arts and crafts can be found in the local galleries and studios. The Gumboot Garden Café is also a great place to spend an afternoon.

Outdoor Adventure

As you leave the centre of Roberts Creek, following Beach Avenue north along the shoreline from the general store, there's a lovely park with a sandy beach. For off-road biking and hiking adventures, visit Mount Elphinstone, which towers above Roberts Creek. A beautiful forest with a network of trails that accommodate different ages and fitness levels, this area is known for its diversity of mushroom species and flowering plants that contain no chlorophyll (i.e. the gnome plant, coral root orchid and pinesap).

The Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club is also nearby and has a full 18-hole public golf course.

Getting to Roberts Creek

Roberts Creek is located on Lower Beach Road, just south of Highway 101, midway between Sechelt and Gibsons.
